Albany, NY — Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls proudly announces that a cohort of ICAN Scholars participated in an immersive and inspiring Community Health Fair at Russell Sage College on Thursday. The visit offered students valuable exposure to health-related career paths and an authentic look at the college experience.

The day began with a warm welcome at Sage’s historic Bush Memorial Auditorium, followed by a comprehensive Community Health Fair in Buchman Hall. Scholars explored a range of interactive health, wellness, and community resource exhibits designed to deepen their understanding of holistic well-being and future career opportunities.

After enjoying lunch in McKinstry Dining Hall, students participated in small-group breakout sessions led by members of the Sage Enrollment Team. These sessions provided hands-on learning and real-world insight into key academic and co-curricular areas, including:

  • Career & Self-Discovery

  • Wellness Programs

  • Sports & Recreation

  • Physical & Occupational Therapy Labs

“Our ICAN Scholars left this trip feeling motivated, informed, and empowered,” said the ICAN Program Team. “Opportunities like this show our students what’s possible and help them envision themselves as future college students and leaders.”

Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls extends its gratitude to Russell Sage College for their partnership, hospitality, and dedication to empowering young women in our region.

This field trip is part of Albany Leadership’s broader commitment to providing transformative college and career-readiness experiences that inspire confidence, curiosity, and lifelong success.
