Albany, NY — October 19, 2025 — Scholars, staff, and families from Albany Leadership Charter School for Girls proudly joined thousands of participants at Washington Park this weekend for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
Each year, this powerful community event unites survivors, supporters, and advocates to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, prevention, and support programs. Albany Leadership was proud to walk in honor of those who have battled breast cancer and in solidarity with those who continue to fight.
“Our participation in Making Strides is about more than just walking—it’s about showing our scholars what it means to lead with compassion, unity, and purpose,” said Principal Woods. “It’s a reminder that when we come together as a community, we can make a real difference.”
The event also aligned with the school’s ongoing commitment to leadership, service, and health awareness. Scholars proudly wore pink and carried messages of hope, reflecting this year’s theme: Together We Lead.
Albany Leadership extends its heartfelt gratitude to the American Cancer Society and all who supported the event. Together, we continue to make strides toward a future free from cancer.
