ALCS Day Of Service

Albany Leadership has WeLead days throughout the year. Our first WeLead day focused on a ‘Day of Service.’  It is a day dedicated to students volunteering for local community organizations. Our goal through this program is to instill a sense of community engagement in our students and to empower them to know that they can create positive and impactful change in their communities from an early age.

Service Learning

Over the past few years, service-learning projects through Albany Leadership have been heavily focused to ensure that all students have the experience, knowledge, and a demonstrated ability to be leaders in their community and prepared for the rigors of the college community.

Who ALCS Volunteered For on our WeLead Day

ALCS students wrapped books to hand out during the holiday season, packaged Boo-Grahams for children, fixed damaged books for the community, wrote letters to women with cancer, and wrote greeting cards for community members receiving a Thanksgiving Meal from Equinox. They also painted pumpkins to finish off the day! Here are the community organizations ALCS worked with on WeLead day:

  • Red Book Shelf
  • Girls Love Mail
  • Catholic Charities
  • Brighter Choice Charter School for Girls
  • Equinox
  • St. Anne’s Institute
  • Boys & Girls Club

Snack Cart

To say thanks to our staff members, administration walked around to each room to hand out something salty and sweet for our dedicated ALCS family.
