Albany Leadership Kicked Off Homecoming Celebration With an Eventful Spirit Week

By Feyisayo Ogunnusi, ALCS Senior

Albany Leadership (High School) recently had their Homecoming Dance. It is tradition that on the week of homecoming, there is an eventful spirit week to start off. Students had been looking forward to spirit week and the prospect of getting to dress up in accordance with each theme of the day.

Wednesday was Twin Day. Students expressed their love for one another by twinning with their favorite person or friend, while the majority opted to express their self-love. The girls were so surprised and excited to see Ms. Dunne, Mx. Ventrice, Mr. Keller, Ms. Heilsberg, Ms. Betts, Mr. Koons, Ms. Morrenda, and Ms. Arnold all twinning in their flannels.

Thursday was Pajama Day. Students were comfy and cozy in their PJs, blankets, cozy slippers, earmuffs, sleep masks and stuffed animals, and a number of girls decided to twin with their friends.

School Spirit Day was a fan favorite. Our student-athletes wore their uniforms to demonstrate school spirit. Girls were all decked out in Albany Leadership merch, many girls also wore their school uniform because by doing so everyday, they are demonstrating school spirit. Mr. Shields, Albany Leadership Athletic Director, said it was his favorite day of the week.

Students have already begun discussing theme ideas for our next spirit week in the spring. Themes like Anything But A Backpack day, Celebrity Look-Alike Day, Wacky Tacky Day, Senior Citizen vs. Baby Day, Monochromatic Day, and many more.

We can’t wait for our next Spirit Week!
